OUR MISSION
Chicago Teen Mentors’ goal is to provide free educational support for CPS students in need. CTM is run entirely by driven CPS high-schoolers wanting to give back to children in the same school system that supports us. Our dedicated, compassionate tutors offer free 1-on-1 tutoring over Zoom in math and reading, exclusively for 3rd to 10th grade CPS students.
ABOUT
This program was started as a club at Whitney Young High School. We saw a common need for educational support at elementary schools in our communities. We wanted to meet this need by offering after-school tutoring services. Prior to schools closing, we had over 20 members tutoring in-person, working closely with three CPS elementary schools. When schools transitioned to remote learning, we moved to free Zoom tutoring in reading and math. Our volunteers tutor 1-on-1, Monday-Sunday from 5:00-6:00 PM and 7:00-8:00 PM.
